MBA is always better than a MS from US..guaranteed. MS doesn't fetch much. I know it first hand. I have MS from US and worked in India. I then got an MBA from Canada.

one of my friends 485 check is signed and mentioned correct amount($395) but he is not written anything where he has suppossed to write department of home land security.
what are the chaces of his 485 get accepted.?

They are done with the hearing?? WTF???? Have they got any fruitful information out of it? I feel so deceived..!! I think its all a farse..

No fruitful results. As expected nothing happened. Actually, I would had got surprised if something had happened. plight of a legal immigrant from retrogated countries remains the same.

I do not support this donor ONLY idea.
Also, Day 1, the FOIA initiative had a goal of $5K.
And without reason, the goal was increased to $10K.
So, pappu should not complain of not reaching the goal when he keeps increasing the goal.

We all felt like increasing the goal becasue out the 100 or so FOIA responses we got atleat we should be able to respond to couple of them. FOIA is not the only one needing money.

Update. My attorney has sent a letter (interfiling process) to USCIS mentioning that my case is current now. One of my friends got 485 approved within 2 weeks after initiating interfiling process. I hope it would be the same case with me.

I finished calling all Senators for the 2nd time. It feels good talking with them about my green card. I also called my Senators in CA. The person on the phone said they support CIR and green cards.

I think you are wrong. When the application is entered into the system that date is called Notice date. Receipt date would be the date USCIS recieves the application.
Receipt date is not the date when the application reaches the service center. It is infact the date when your application is entered into their internal system which could be several days after the application has reached the service center.

I got a home loan last year through SunTrust on EAD without any issues. You would need to provide more documentation such as I-140 approval, I-1488 receipt copies. :)

Thanks sy. I fully agree it's the agent we deal with. My BOA loan coordinator is extremely stubborn & doesn't have any clue regarding immigration. From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. Received a direct deposit from IRS today of $1200. I am on H1B and my wife on H4 and both of us have SSNs. We had filed jointly.
Also another friend of mine received his refud for a family of 4 - he is on H1B, wife on H4, both have SSNs, one daughter US citizen (has SSN) and another daughter Indian citizen (no SSN). He got 600 + 600 + 300= $ 1500.
It all adds up...

In my case, I saved $400 per month as I got mine on 4.5% interest rate. If I got mine on 6% interest rate, I would have paid $144,000 more in the entire duration of my loan. I can't say enough on the value of my house because it is the lowest compared to all my neighbors with same model. The location has the best school district in the city and the elementary school is 3 blocks away.
Refinancing is a tricky part of this game. Refinancing is not always good because most of the time, you will start at month 1 again where the interest part is higher than the principal. It also has closing cost. One should only refinance if the difference is greater than 1%. 1% is only break even.
I am not saying all others should buy now. What I am saying is that we cannot say it's not a good time to buy either. It depends on where you're buying.
