I am seeing a lot of folks predicting the EB2 dates. And I believe they are right in doing so since that is their filign category. What I am asking is if there are any prediction regarding EB3-I. The dates are not moving at all which is absolutely frustating.
I don't think anybody can predict EB-3 India as it is a lost cause (sorry for being pessimistic). The only way EB-3 India will see any meaningful progress is through legislation.

If you are stuck at Atlanta PERM backlog center , please email your case number and explain them that your application has been pending for a LONG time and request them to help us get out of this grave situation. Also, please post on this thread after you have sent an email so that others can be motivated to do the same. We need to send as many emails as possible to get any positive feedback. I know that DOL mentioned that they will start processing our applications soon, but we need to keep up the pressure from our end so that it has some positive effect.

There have been questions raised regarding the way numbers have been provided to the China and India in the Employment Second preference categories beginning in April. Section 202(a)(5) of the Immigration and Nationality Act states that if total demand for visas in an Employment preference category is insufficient to use all available visa numbers in that category in a calendar quarter, then the unused numbers may be made available without regard to the annual per-country limit. (For example: If the second preference annual limit were 40,000, number use by �All Other Countries� were estimated to be only 25,000, and the China/India combined number use based on their per-country limits were 6,000, then there would be 9,000 numbers unused. Those 9,000 numbers could then be made available to China and India applicants without regard to their per-country limits.)
Based on the informaiton available, it was been determined that the demand from �All Other Countries� for Second preference numbers, plus the amount of numbers available under China and India Second preference per-country limit, would be insufficient to utilize all available numbers under the annual limit for this category. Therefore, pursuant to Section 202(a)(5) of the Act, the unused numbers have been made available to China and India Second preference applicants. Since Section 203(e)(1) of the Act requires that such unused numbers be made available strictly in priority date order, the China and India applicants have been subject to the identical cut-off date. At least I won't give u red dots if you can enlighten us how to get us out of this mess. And yes, we do want our green card so I don't think we can stop the process or stop spending money on that. Also please advise us how to bring all 70K people under one umbrella?
I dont mind getting Red Dots, But please, for god's sake. Stop doing this fruitless campaign. Do you guys think Giving a Clock or sending flowers solved earlier problems. Enough of this Gandhiian ways. This country is not good for people like Gandhi. May be Flower campaign got noticed and created a whole new experience for the USCIS, but i dont think it really helped them do anything in our favor. Already, folks here are wasting their money, year after year, on their EADs and APs for them and their family. Just think for a second guys, It costs us 1000 $ to maintain status on AOS and visit our family and this is going on indefinitely for our years now. USCIS/Congress does not want to do anything about this, They are happy to get the revenue. Even if you think a minimum of 200,000 people spending 1000 $ an year, it is 200,000,000 $. Iam not even considering the amount they spent on other things like H1B extension, H4s..... Just think about the Dollars they are making on this Green Card SCAM. Accept it or not, it is indirectly affecting our lives, even though, GC is not really important for lot of folks. Iam one such person, I have a good client and a decent employer and iam with the same folks for 9 years and they are happy extending my H1b at their cost. But still, this whole GC game, is sometimes disturbing. They are playing with our emotions and our loved ones. So, GUYS we need to take a bigger and bolder step. To me, Calling people, sending flowers and letters explaining the situation makes no sense. Do you think, those guys dont really know about our situation. Let us a make a bold move. We are 70,000 folks just here in ImmigrationVoice. Let us compile a letter,that pushes USCIS/Congress on improving the condition. As long as they get those EXTRA Dollars, i dont think anything is going to happen. Even if they remove the provision to apply for GC while on H1B, it is good for us, for we will know that in advance and can plan on shaping our future better, instead of this false promise and emotional torture. I think even AILA or other Lawyers are useless. They dont want to do anything for us. All they do is, interpret the LAW , and explain us in the way we can understand. They dont take steps to fight for the justice. All they care is the money. So let us make our point clear to USCIS, we dont want to waste money on EADs and APs and H1B extensions. To me, it should be free of cost, since it is their problem that they dont work efficiently. Why should we pay 1000s of dollars for their inefficiency. let us all 70,000 work together in sending a letter to USCIS or Congress that We are not willing to spend any more money on the GC knowing that we are not going to get it anyway. one of my close friend grew from a regular programmer to the position of VP in the span of last 6 years. he is facing lot of issues with GC.
clearly mirage didn't mean growing to the position of exactly VP. he meant a higher and slightly different position, for example an IT Manager. It is not that uncommon, for a IT Progmr who works in the same company for 5-6 years, offered a Manager position.

Sure, he will face lot of difficulties, if his employer failed to file for H1 amendment when his job profile/responsibilities changed. There is a procedure in place whenever for cases when job profile changes. My job profile was changed, but my employer filed for both H1 amendment and new I-140 to reflect new job duties.
When new I-140 is filed in such cases, beneficiary retains his/her priority date.

IV core leadership has to change and so is the stratergy. Current Lobbying efforts have clearly not worked out. I call for elections to elect the new core team. All these conference calls and inaction is just wastage of time and things are getting worse. We need an aggressive stratergy and may need to take names and hit people openly to get our agenda pushed. IV leadership clearly lacks these skills.

According to the procedures, until they enter data into their central sytem, it seems it's pretty tough to say that they intervene somewhere and sort out by PD. Section 6: Workload Distribution might be the key to answer our questions, but the section is missing.
So they enter the applications in the order they're received, and each application is given an "RD." The "RD" indeed plays a role in the adjudication: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=NSC

Volunteer is a person who takes responsibility and does a single task. Here the question was raised to have new leaders who can take a flight to Washington DC on Monday morning, change the law by noon to issue GC to every EB category, have a lunch at Olive Garden, come back monday evening.

I just came to know about this site on July 11.
Liked the idea about sending flowers and immediately send one basket of flowers to Mr Emilio for July 12 delivery along with a get well soon card.:) Also send letters to local congressmen etc.
After this amazingly delightful news yesterday, I gave $200 to IV..and as mentioned earlier have set up a $50/m recurring deposit just now.
For all those who have still not contributed...

This post is not entirely true.. I have never seen an college(recognized by AICTE) where u will pass only by paying fees.
There are issues in india , but i have seen many people going back , and settling without any problems. The choice to move is more personal , then what could be discussed here ..
I was in India recently for a 2 months vacation, and some work from our Indian office,. First few days were tough , lot of dust , traffic , pollution, But after 2 weeks i was loving it the old way .. and when i was flying back i realized I love Delhi .
If you own a house in the major cities ( ie lot of jobs and business opportunities) then going back makes sense. But if you belong to a small city , and have to move to a bigger city anyway, then living here makes more sense.
The reality (which is bad) is that if you have money in india , your life style is much better than what u have in US (dont forget , even earning 100K, doesn't really make u rich here , Honda and Toyota are poor people's car in US.. I have seen very few EB applicants driving a BMV,Bentley)
When i was in India, i went to best hotels for food (2000Rs buffets) virtually every week.,just went to NY once for a 200$ buffet, in 6 years.
So everyone has to take a personal decision, based on personal factors..
I would agree with most of what you said that it is personal issue and personal choice. if you feel here homesick then better to go home at the earliest.
I toally dis-agree with you in terms of education issue. I am in education field since I was born (as a student and as faculty both in India and US) so I had seen closely both sides of the coins. Our education system in India is detoriating day by day with no quality control on private institutions and no nation wide approach for QUALITY of education. We have made education available to every one (mostly !!) but during that process we have made it to go in to the tank. With few good institutions among the thousands of colleges and universities does not make it good quality. Percentage of below standard education institution are increasing day by day. Each time I go back home and see how the education is detoriating, I feel deeply sorry about state of education in India. Opening college in every village and giving degree to every one who wants does not make good education. In old days we were giving those degrees to only one those deserve it and can earn it. That is why our old mass of graduates was highly acclaimed all over world. Now a days our average scientist and engineers ( I am not talking about all high quality one from population of billion !!) is very poor.
Also just to Add here same AICTE who approves technical colleges in India, Its DIRECTOR in CHIEF was under govt investigation of messive corruption in the approval process of the institutions.
So dont feel so good about CURRENT and FUTURE education system in India, unless we try to improove the QUALITY issue of our technical graduates at put it AHEAD of QUANTITY OF GRADUATES
There are issues in india , but i have seen many people going back , and settling without any problems. The choice to move is more personal , then what could be discussed here ..
I was in India recently for a 2 months vacation, and some work from our Indian office,. First few days were tough , lot of dust , traffic , pollution, But after 2 weeks i was loving it the old way .. and when i was flying back i realized I love Delhi .
If you own a house in the major cities ( ie lot of jobs and business opportunities) then going back makes sense. But if you belong to a small city , and have to move to a bigger city anyway, then living here makes more sense.
The reality (which is bad) is that if you have money in india , your life style is much better than what u have in US (dont forget , even earning 100K, doesn't really make u rich here , Honda and Toyota are poor people's car in US.. I have seen very few EB applicants driving a BMV,Bentley)
When i was in India, i went to best hotels for food (2000Rs buffets) virtually every week.,just went to NY once for a 200$ buffet, in 6 years.
So everyone has to take a personal decision, based on personal factors..

I am NSC EB3-I 2003 PD - no change. The status remains the same.
