If the economy is holding up like it does, other issues including immigration may get put on the backburner. This is the time to stand up and make our voices heard. Please step up and contribute for the massive lobbying that we (you and I) need to do to get these action items taken care of.
Don't think that other guys are contributing and this will be taken care of by iteself since I have other channels where my money is flowing into, and that I will contribute later if one of the bills get to the house floor etc. This is the time your help is needed the most. Each and every penny that you contribute matters.
It's high time we all see the big picture and stand up for ourselves because you know why...No one else is looking out for us but IV (us)!

first: indulging in a completely useless dicussion
this is your prerogative but this forum really does have a purpose and a well defined goal. it behoves those who use it to be aligned with the goals of the organization, not completely obsessed with a receipt that is at best a tiny way station in a long journey.
second and this needs undivided attention- and rereading as many times as needed: personal attacks, offensive language and divisive fueds are against the policy of this forum. if you have a problem with this, read the posting guidelines. make sure you understand them completely.
third: junior and senior is nothing but a representation of the number of posts from a member. if the posts are nothing but self obsessed rantings, then senior is just a word that means nothing. posts can be approved or disapproved by members using the tools above. this results in green or red squares in front of a members name. that may be a better representation of other members opinions than just the number of posts.
fourth: those who live in glass houses do not ...do a lot of things frankly. you cannot complain about other's language or content if yours fails to meet the same criteria. i urge you to be civil in your tone and choose your words carefully. we are here to be a one united community working to end retrogression. not to rave and rant about each other, take or make sides, threaten (with what?), or endlessly obsses about dates and notices.
please by all means track your progress and give and take information.
but do it with some decorum.

I agree, UAE is great place for tax-free money and paid vacations upto 2 months in some cases. I've a british colleague who worked in UAE for 8 years, he says that there are lots of restrictions.

Was away on business travel for last 3 days.
Coming to your friend and his call, the information i passed on is what i got from rep.
Looks like there are lot of applications received by USCIS on july 2.
Hopefully we get some direction by next weekend.

I think dates won't (and should not ) move much. So at the end of year we can see big jump and then may be people like me can file I-1485.

There seems to be no trend. Mine is non-RIR from 2001 November, transferred from Federal. I have not heard anything after receving 45-day letter in May 2005. Recent case status from BEC says my application is awaiting further review by a BEC analyst. One day, it might be approved. Incidentally DOL web site says still 17 months remaining for backlog removal.:D We should see light at the end of tunnel after another 1 1/2 years.

Several exciting initiatives are underway on the healthcare front, and we also invite professionals from other fields(apart from healthcare). However, y'all must take up leadership and lead these efforts via IV as the platform!
The agenda should align with general objectives of IV, and we welcome professionals from fields. Please spread the word among the nursing/PT and other communities.
IV is not restricted to any one nationality alone!!(But, please restrict your conversations to English)

I called Rep Lamar Smith office. The lady who picked up the phone asked me we are getting lot of calls. She asked me are you in supprot of the bill? I told her yes. I also told her that I am having master's degree from USA. My children are top student but may not get admission in some of NJ medical college just because we did not get GC since last 7 years. So we need help from Rep Lamar Smith to make USA more competitive. She also wanted to know that from where I was calling.

My point - I am going to take things in a stride, basically wait till I can - doesn't hurt me as long as I go about my daily routine.
All who are thinking of jumping the fence and giving up, one piece of advice - if you do not have kids and plan to have any in this life, please do it NOW - have them be born here (all of them) and then move on with whatever / wherever you want to go.
At least this is a gift you will be giving your kids for their lifetime and all the generations following them (remember - a US citizen's kid can be a US citizen no matter where he/she is born) - so you will be arranging US citizenship for all your great^n * grand * kids (0 <= n <= infinity) !
This is how I think about it when I do not think about MYSELF. Once the kids are born, you can flaunt their American Passports and feel happy in their well-being and security (for whatever it is worth) and move on to Canada / India / Singapore / wherever! Live happily.
And do not forget your kids can sponsor you when they are 21.
