Left-wing reporter Greg Palast argues that the new Arizona law has nothing to do with stopping illegal immigration and everything to do with targeting the Hispanic US citizens in the state - nearly 30% of Arizonans - who vote overwhelmingly Democrat. Palast lays out the case that the state's GOP has been engaged in a long war on these citizens that involves uppressing their votes and driving them from the state.

Hello,
I obtained an EAD using my OPT just to be able to work in the U.S. while my fiancee completes her degree (I graduated in December 06 and she will do so in May 07). Since we will get married after she graduates, and will file for adjustment of status, we thought there would be no problem in my ability to work without any interruption.
However, it seems that filing for adjustment of status invalidates your OPT, therefore you wouldn't be able to continue working until you get your new EAD.
Does that mean I would have to stop working for 90 days or so after I get married? (Remember I'm on an F-1 as I think you can keep working if on an H-1B)
If so, is there any way to minimize this problem?

I posted this message earlier in some other thread. Actually my questions were irrelevant to the thread I added the message on. Hence, creating a new thread.
I have couple of questions regarding GC filing for future employment.
a. Is it legal to work for company B if one is working for company A and company A has already filed LC?
b. Any danger of getting audit because of multiple LCs?

Check the status using the H1B receipt number usually EACXXXXXX or WACXXXXXX
If something has changed, The status gets changed.....kinda weird.

I joined company ABC on H1B in 2005.
In Nov 2006 company XYZ filed my GC.
H1B got transferred to a couple of companies because I changed jobs while GC was being processed in parallel without being affected by my job changes because it was filed by another company.
In Oct 2007 got my EAD for a period of 1 year. Kept working on H1B only though.
EAD expired in Oct 2008. Applied for a new card but never received it. Did not apply for one after that.
In Nov 2009, I quit my job and moved back to home country giving up my H1B while still not affecting my GC because company XYZ agreed to keep it under process.
So at this time, I have no H1B and no EAD card. My priority date is however going to be current soon.
Now...
1) Do I have to be in the country before my dates get current or can I do that later?
2) On what status do I enter?
3) Can I delay the process somehow without affecting my GC?

Hi Forum,
My wife has an H1B visa which has been invalidated now because she had to travel to US with me on H4. Her petition seem to be valid. The I94 in her passport has H4 mentioned on it. Now we want to convert her visa back to H1. Since she has H1, I am wondering the H4 to H1 conversion process should be easier compare to applying fresh H1.
It would be great if you guys let me know what is the process of converting this without going back to home country.
I appreciate your help

Applied for H1B extension in Oct2010 (after 6 yrs completed) based on approved I-140 but got extension for only 1 yr till 2011 (got client letter for 1 yr only) . Can i transfer my H1B to new Employer based on my approved I-140 from my current Employer? If so, can i get 3 yr extension with the new Employer or will the new H1B be valid only till 2011?

Often it is written on the lens (on the front), as part of the whole labeling there. Also the box/documentation of the lens should have that information. If you don't have that, you should be able to find that info on the Internet/manufacturer's homepage. Of course you could also try measuring, but you have to be relatively exact there.
